Futures for Somerset (FfS) is a long term partnership established with Somerset County Council as part of the Building Schools for the Future initiative.  Its shareholders are:

· Somerset County Council

· BAM PPP

· Amber Investments

The focus of FfS is to strive for excellence in its facilitation of educational transformation. FfS thus work with a wide range of stakeholders whose collective purpose is to achieve better outcomes for communities across Somerset.

Through leading engagement and taking responsibility for integrating building design, construction, service delivery, sustainable community renewal (through raised ambition and educational attainment), and engagement of local business and employers improved outcomes, efficiency and value for money in public spending across Somerset is delivered.

The key objectives of FfS are to: 

· Create learning environments that support young people to become self-directed, independent, confident, motivated and collaborative learners;

· Design and build appropriate, modern, sustainable and engaging schools that are widely perceived by their communities as positive and integral to their lives and well-being;

· Improve the personalisation and inclusiveness of the curriculum, the range of learning experiences and improve support for high-quality teaching and learning;

· Raise ICT standards;

· Create management efficiencies; 

· Enable more disabled/SEN users of the schools;

· Improve local collaboration, business and community involvement; and

· Improve the social, economic, physical and emotional health and well-being of Somerset communities.
