Construction links to the Curriculum
Getting a new School building is only part of the experience. As the Schools are being built within school grounds, it is an opportunity to demonstrate to students how the work on site links to curriculum subjects. Working closely with BAM, Futures for Somerset (FfS) have developed a curriculum links document.

This gives ideas of where each of the construction processes links to the key stage 3 curriculum, and the dates that these activities are progressing on site. An illustrative example of an entry is below:

 

Another aspect of our work with the Building Schools for the Future Project is supporting positive change through a Partnering Services Delivery Statement (Schedule 10B). This was around Transformational Change in Learning, Skills and Employment and involved partnership working between FfS, BAM Construction, Supply Chain,  BAMFM and  Schools.
